red-scare-melting-potFrom Knuckledraggin:

A Russian arrives in New York City as a new immigrant to the United States. It’s 11:00 AM on a Wednesday.

He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and says, “Thank you Mr. American for letting me come into this country, giving me housing, food stamps, free medical care, and a free education!”

The passerby says, “You are mistaken, I am a Mexican and here illegally.”

The man goes on and encounters another passerby. “Thank you for having such a beautiful country here in America.”

The person says, “I not American, I Vietnamese and here on a Green Card that expired two years ago.”

The new arrival walks farther and stops the next person he sees, then shaking his hand, and says, “Thank you for wonderful America!” That person puts up his hand and says, “I am from Middle East. I am not American. It was easy to get here via Arizona.”

He finally sees a nice lady and asks, “Are you an American?”

She says, “No, I am from Africa here on an Education Green Card that expired 10 years ago.”

Puzzled, he asks her, “Where are all the Americans?”

The African lady checks her watch and says: “Probably at work.”

We could only wish, this man would recognize his role as President.

This man is destroying our country.  He does not understand the traditional American way of life, our country and its citizens.  He has no concept of history, or the sacrifice made by others for the freedoms we enjoy (enjoyed).  He seeks to undermine everything Americans stand for.  Tell that to the everyday joe and jane?  They won’t understand.  I see this every day, day in and day out.

And on this, the day of Obama’s immigration presser, Obama tells the major networks to Not cover his announcement tonight.  What comes with control over media?

“My fellow Americans” he said.  Indeed.

We Rock!

I was looking at something on-line today, something I stumbled into.  The details of the USS Pueblo.  A still-commissioned USN ship held hostage by the Norks.

USS Pueblo Docked on Taedong River

I then transitioned into cryptography, looking at some of the equipment these guys of the Pueblo would have likely had to try to ditch, or disable.

What I am struck by, reminded of, the technology we used then, and likely use now – today’s tech is undoubtedly more advanced.  I am sure we don’t use wheels in cryptography machines.  Software is used now.

We were way in advance of what the Norks used then, or perhaps the Russians used.  We used (maybe) unbreakable cryptography for decades after WWII.  There were breaks in security.  For a long time.  It was not, perhaps, until the Pueblo was captured that others had any idea of how we communicate.

Here’s the thing; Isis, hamas, iran, or many other bad-actors can threaten us today.  But we have made use of advanced equipment and algorithims for a long time, when they were riding camels and striking tents in the desert.

We cannot rely only on technology alone, and must be vigilant.  But take heart in our current systems.  Trust that there are some perhaps in government that are doing their jobs.  Maybe.  Trust our ingenuity.  Yes, obama admitted today he has no strategy regarding isis.  More on that later.

At least the story of the USS Pueblo is interesting in itself.

Did I mention that we put an SUV on mars recently?  Who else did that?  No one.
